Mortality

We're at the mercy of the universe.
Some say a blessing. others curse.
but i know something even worse
too soon to be the cargo of a hearse.

A co-worker suddenly died yesterday. She was a good person. Level-headed. Sense of humor. Loved to sing. Crazy for karaoke. She will be missed by a lot of people.

These things are a harsh and jarring reminder that very rarely it seems are we prepared and have everything set out. No matter how much time we have it isn't enough.

How many days do I have left?

Why am I not spending every second writing?
